Citizen Sounding Board
An eight-member Citizen Sounding Board with representatives from Lake Oswego and Tigard participated in the evaluation of drinking water treatment methods. The Sounding Board considered community values, project impacts and costs.
At their first meeting, Sounding Board members joined the expert panel to tour Lake Oswego’s water treatment plant. In discussion, Sounding Board members expressed interest in: UV and other treatment technologies; drinking water quality data and trends; future regulation for disinfection byproducts; regulatory trends; reliability of the water system to deliver water when pumps fail or water lines break and emergency sources, interties with other water suppliers; Lake Oswego’s and Tigard’s water conservation progress; sustainable design features; and the suitability of Lake Oswego’s current site to accommodate plant expansion.
