UPDATED: Lake Oswego Tigard Water Partnership to Award Bid for Initial Pipeline Segment

LAKE OSWEGO - On August 22, 2013, the Lake Oswego Tigard Water Partnership received bids from four prequalified general contractors for construction of a 3.4 mile segment of its water pipeline through Lake Oswego. The responsive low bid was submitted by Emery & Sons Construction, Inc., in the amount of $12,135,505, about $660,000 below project estimates. The pipeline is one of 6 segments to be constructed in the Partnership's program to upgrade Lake Oswego's water system to serve both communities.

The pipeline, which varies between 42 and 24 inches, will be constructed from 5th Street and Cabana Lane in Lake Oswego, to a new reservoir to be constructed near Waluga Park.

Emery & Sons Construction is a local construction company established in 1967 and based in Salem, OR. Emery has extensive experience in public infrastructure projects related primarily to drinking water, wastewater and transportation.

The Lake Oswego City Council, acting as the Water Partnership's managing partner, will consider the staff recommendation for contract award to Emery & Sons Construction on September 10, 2013. Two additional pipeline segments will be out for bid later in 2013. One segment is in the City of Gladstone and one stretches from the water treatment plant in West Linn to the south shore of Oswego Lake.
